T/R SYSTEMS was founded in 1991 as an engineering services firm for print engine development and consulting. In 1995 the company launched its patented Cluster Printing System known as the MicroPress. The MicroPress received industry acclaim for its unique approach to the short-run, on-demand printing market. Since 1995, the company has continued to advance the functionality of the MicroPress as well as the type and number of print devices to which the product connects.Currently, T/R Systems has delivered more than 800 MicroPress Cluster Printing Systems to customers around the world. Patent PortfolioCurrently, the company has 35 patents issued, allowed, or pending that protect its intellectual property as it relates to cluster printing and printer engine development. Micropress Cluster Printing SystemThe MicroPress is the world's first Cluster Printing System and it establishes new levels of digital document processing and publishing. Using a single MicroPress, customers can connect (or cluster) up to twelve different print devices and manage each of the print devices together as a single printing environment. On a MicroPress, customers can cluster black & white, color, wide-format or a combination of any of these print devices. Micropress SolutionsThe MicroPress Cluster Printing System consists of both hardware and software products that provide a growth-optimized digital printing solution with desktop computing simplicity. The MicroPress is ideal in environments needing to print up to 1.5 million black & white pages per month and/or 6 to 48 pages per minute in fully calibrated color. A robust library of software options, that help to automate the document production workflow, support the production output capabilities of the MicroPress. The MicroPress' "Document Production" options provide an easy way for customers to manipulate and organize documents for production. These options included everything from post-RIP preview of a job to post-RIP imposition and page numbering. Customers can also use powerful "scripts" to automate a multi-step workflow. The MicroPress' "DocuNet Workflow" options allows customers to leverage the power of the Internet or their internal network in their production environments. These options allow customers to submit or accept print jobs via electronic job tickets, use the industry standard "PDF" for softproofing of a post-RIPed print job, and establishing pager or e-mail notification of a print job's status. The MicroPress' "ColorTools" suite is a powerful set of options that ensures customers printing color documents produce accurate, consistent, and pleasing documents each and every time. The suite consists of a powerful color calibration option to ensure each color output device produces identical color. The suite also includes the industry standard ICC profile processor to ensure the job that is printed looks the same as when it was designed and submitted. Color Adjust is the last option in the suite and it allows customers to alter the color value of a job after it is RIPed. Micropress UsersBecause of the power of the software and hardware, the MicroPress is useful in countless industries and for numerous applications. The following is a synopsis of the of the types of applications in which customers can use the MicroPress:
