Master Course

The US Mobidays masters course is designed for current Mobi-C users or surgeons who have previously been trained to implant the Mobi-C device. The course will feature a moderated live Mobi-C surgery, an advanced reimbursement discussion, an overview of the Mobi-C european experience, and in-depth case reviews with the faculty panel.

Dr. Bernard

Dr. Pierre Bernard is an orthopaedic spinal surgeon from Bordeaux, France. He did part of his residency in Paris with Pr Jean Dubousset, then completed a 4-year fellowship with Pr Sénégas and Pr Vital’s Spine Surgery Unit at Bordeaux University Hospital.

In 1999, Dr Bernard co-founded a spinal surgery center in Bordeaux, called “Centre Aquitain du Dos”, which has become the largest private spine center in France.

Dr. Bernard has a special interest in cTDR (cervical) and cervical spine surgery. He has been involved with the Fédération Française de Rugby (French Rugby Union Federation) since 2003 as one of the 3 accredited national spinal experts.


Dr. Hisey

Dr. Michael S. Hisey is an orthopedic surgeon at Texas Back Institute where he specializes in spinal surgery and focuses on using the most advanced and least invasive techniques available to treat his patients.

Dr. Hisey earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology and completed his Medical degree from the University of California in San Diego. He then completed a Surgical Internship and Orthopedic Surgical Residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadel- phia, PA. Dr. Hisey spent time in Austria working on his Trauma Fellowship at the University Clinic for Traumatology and joined Texas Back Institute in 1999 after he completed his Fellowship in Spine Surgery at Texas Back Institute.


Dr. Khachatryan

Dr. Armen Khachatryan is an orthopaedic surgeon at The Center of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation Excellence. He is board-certified specializing in minimally invasive microsurgery and the treatment of cervical and lumbar spinal disease. Dr. Khachatryan earned a bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He earned his medical degree, with honors, from the Yale University School of Medicine. He completed his surgical internship and his orthopedic surgical residency at the University Of Utah Department Of Orthopedics. He completed a combined spine fellowship at the University Of Utah Department Of Orthopedics and Shriner’s Hospital for Children. He has been in practice since 2002.

Dr. Khachatryan was among the first to implant artificial discs in Utah, both in the lumbar and cervical spine. He is a firm believer in preserving motion with disc replacement surgery instead of traditional fusion surgery. In 2013, Dr. Khachatryan established The Disc Replacement Center at Jordan Valley—the first of its kind in Utah.


Dr. Ryu

Dr. Stephen Ryu, MD FACS, is a board-certified spine-fellowship trained neurosurgeon practicing at the Palo Alto Medical Foundation in Palo Alto, CA. He is the Deputy Chief of Neurosurgery at the Stanford University Medical Center and an Adjunct Professor of Electrical Engineering at Stanford University. Dr Ryu's practice covers all aspect of spinal surgery from occiput to sacrum with particular emphasis in less invasive techniques. His research interests include global spinal alignment, minimizing complications with less invasive techniques, and brain machine interfacing.

Dr. Ryu has performed cervical arthroplasty for over ten years. He has been trained and used over six cervical arthroplasty devices. He has been a trainer and faculty for two FDA approved cervical arthroplasty devices. He is active in promoting the rational use of cervical arthroplasty and discussing with payors to broaden coverage for these devices.

Compliance

LDR Spine, USA, Inc. provides training and education on the safe and effective use of its products in accordance with the principals of the AdvaMed Code of Ethics on Interac tions with Health Care Professionals (“Code”) and LDR’s Policies and Procedures (“LDR Policies”). Pursuant to the Code and LDR Policies, LDR may reimburse certain expenses* incurred by health care professionals (“HCPs”) who attend LDR training and education events**. LDR will not reimburse for incidental personal expenses or expenses incurred by an HCP’s guest or for any other person who does not have a bona fide professional purpose and need to attend the training and education event. Further, all payments and “transfers of value” to HCPs will be reported to the appropriate agencies as required by state and federal regulations. Per the Physician Payment Sunshine Act, the U.S. Govern- ment will post this data on a public searchable government maintained website. “ Trans- fers of value” include meals, snacks, beverages, and any reimbursable travel expense.

*Expenses that may be reimbursable include: airfare, ground transportation, mileage, lodging, and meals. Please request a copy of LDR’s Health Care Professional Travel Policy for further details and limitations. Expenses that are not in accordance with the Policy may not be reimbursed without prior approval by LDR.

**Generally, Vermont law does not permit LDR to provide meals or reimbursable travel expenses to Vermont licensed HCPs; however, Vermont Law does provide limited exceptions to this prohibition. Prior to incurring any expenses, please contact LDR for details regarding the requirements which must be met to comply with the limited exceptions.
